Healing shouldn’t be a business. Healing is an intrinsic right.
What is “The Farm”?
“The Farm” is our ultimate goal with all of this work. We will establish a sustainable, regenerative farm that serves as a trauma recovery and holistic birth center. Nature helps heal us for free and we are here to facilitate your return to her arms. This center will function as a homestead, meaning those who choose to heal with us, will also work with us to keep the farm running - after all, reciprocal living is an ancient form of wisdom.
Body Liberation at “The Farm”
Currently the fitness industry is fueled and driven by body domination. This industry promotes “quick fixes” and continuously bets on short term promises doomed to fail in order to create dependency and therefore long term profit based on shame.
Too much of the time, those authentically in search of true happiness unknowingly become hooked on illusions and false promises of quick fixes to fill an emotional or spiritual void.
As a result, people seeking “wellness” often find themselves in a vicious cycle of displacing their sense of self on external trends and validations, causing an often slow yet significant derailment of their sense of self. Moreover, conversations, diagnoses, and practices around “health and wellness” often fail to consider socio-economic factors.
Why are there no affordable, organic, health food stores in low income neighborhoods?
Why don’t most, conventional doctors, talk about mental health when doing a physical exam?
Why do we maintain the illusion that the body and the mind are not intimately connected?
When we talk about health issues, we must talk about systemic issues. Access to nutrient dense food and the knowledge of how to consume it should be a fundamental human right. This is why we have created Divine Chaos as a means to fund our long term project. All of the proceeds from our work will go to establishing “The Farm”.
“The Farm” will serve as both a regenerative agricultural project as well as a holistic wellness center for those seeking a return to nature in order to heal. We recognize that trauma healing and “wellness” experiences are often gate kept by the wealthy.
For this reason, “The Farm” will be established in partnership with the local Mayan community, the original land stewards of Quintana Roo. Gillian has partnered with Aventuras Ranch to make this dream a reality. She will continue to serve the people of her new home, preserve the precious land, and make healing available to those who need it most.
