The “Farmgirl” Doula: Wellness Support Through Your Healing Journey

Doulas provide essential support to new parents before, during and after the birthing process so they can be fully present in their transition into parenthood. Gillian, the founder of Divine Chaos Movement, understands the need for “doula-ing” individuals through all life transitions in our busy, modern world.

Typically, doulas support new families emotionally, physically and educationally. They cook for their clients, help with newborn care, and “mother the mother” as we would have done in ancient times when we lived communally. After training as a birth and postpartum doula with DONA International, Gillian realized doula-ing can and should be offered to all sorts of life transitions outside of parenthood.

What is a “Wellness Doula”?

Gillian counsels survivors of intimate partner violence through her partnership with Pathways for Victims, an LA based organization that provides support and counseling to both survivors and perpetrators. She is now offering doula support to people processing trauma, grief, and more. She draws on her deep well of physical and emotional wellness training, provides concrete resources, and helps clients create a plan of action to better their lives.

Gillian’s specializes in Eating Disorder recovery, PTSD, and recovering after intimate partner violence (physical and emotional). She is available for emotional doula services as well as traditional doula services through out the perinatal period for new parents.

Divine Chaos at Sarvodaya Institute

Divine Chaos has partnered with Sarvodaya Farm & Nursery, an urban farm in Pomona, California to support regenerative agriculture in our home state. Each event includes a workout, education on regenerative practices and a true farm to table meal to top it off. Proceeds collected from these events support Sarvodaya and Divine Chaos’ work within their respective communities.

“The combination of natural, functional movement followed by a farm grown meal is the perfect pairing. “
